10 Things to do in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

We visited Phnom Penh twice on our trip through Cambodia, there’s lots to see and it’s a great place to stopover from or to Siem Reap or if you enter Cambodia from the Vietnam boarder. As the capital of Cambodia Phnom Penh it is a bustling city with lots of history as well as fantastic markets and highly rated restaurants for food and drink.

Take a day trip to the Mekong Delta!

Ho Chi Minh is amazing, but after a few days in the city I was eager to see more of Vietnam and explore the countryside. We originally booked a day trip to the Mekong Delta river for Boxing Day but it was cancelled due to the aftermath of a typhoon in the Philippines which was heading to Vietnam. 10 Things to do in Saigon, Vietnam

You have most likely heard of Saigon and perhaps Ho Chi Minh City too, but you might not have known that both are different names for the same city in Southern Vietnam. Before the trip I said I was visiting Ho Chi Minh City, but now that we’ve visited and spent time speaking to the locals I’d be more likely to say Saigon. Saigon was renamed to Ho Chi Minh City at the end of the Vietnam war, named after the communist leader who led the independence movement in Vietnam.
